This is a foundational Primary and Secondary, CPR and AED course designed for young people aged 11 to 14, it is an ideal general starter course suitable for young people and developed so as to give them the hands on experience that they may need to help others. Besides the core skills a greater focus is placed in the young people looking after themselves, calling for help, managing bystanders and de mystifying the trauma. It is kept light, entertaining, informative and very practical.

 

Over the years we have given the skills to young people who have used the skills and made life altering differences to others.

 

The program consists of a combination of two core components plus additional skills:

  • Primary Care & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Secondary Care (Assessment First Aid)

 

Course Content Secondary Care (First Aid):

Injury assessment, illness assessment, bandaging, splinting and the management of allergic reactions (incl. anaphylaxis), asthma, bruises, burns, chemical burns, cuts, dental injuries, diabetic problems, dislocations and fractures, electrical injuries, eye injuries, first aid kit assembly, fish spine injury, frostbite, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, heart attack (signs and symptoms), hypothermia, insect stings, jellyfish stings, octopus bites, poisoning, scrapes, seizures, snake bites, spider bites, sprains and strains, stroke, temperature related injuries and venomous bites and stings.

Primary & Secondary Care With AED & O2 Teenagers (11 To 14 Yrs Old)

  • 8 hrs (2 x 4hrs sessions)
